The purpose of this study was to measure the children's anxiety about dental
treatment by Human Figure Drawing Scoring System developed by Sonnenberg &
Venham.
A questionnaire was also used to survey the history of toothache, the history of dental
treatment the attitude for the dentist and the attitude for the dental treatment.
The interrelationships between the four items were analyzed by chi-square.
The result were as follows ;
1. The mean of anxiety score was 5.76¡¾2.54, and the range of distribution was Som
1.00 to 17.35, which was relatively low comparing to the theoretical range from 0.00 to
28.6.
2. The anxiety score of boys was higher than that of girls(P<0.01).
3. The rates of children who showed negative attitude for dentists and for dental
treatment of the subjects were 8.5% and 34.1%.
